  4. We had a great deal of rain in the Mariemont area on Wednesday, March 25. The rain garden that the MHS Riders of the Storm installed on school grounds handled the heavy rains fantastically! What a beautiful way to reduce runoff from paved areas and roofs and to provide for bees, butterflies and birds. I can't wait to see the unfurling of all the spring foliage and flowers!

Congrats to the Riders of the Storm!

The world today is facing many problems with the environment, and this is a really neat way to help the cause! Not only does it help our planet, but it also beautifies our community! With all these benefits, who wouldn't want to make their own rain garden? 17. Amazing - but all the hard work really looks worth it! I'm in an area that gets torrential downpours, with sheets of water on the roads and a sewer system that isn't close to being able to handle the load. I'm very tempted to create a rain garden not only for my own yard but in our local park!

  24. I teach in an inner-city school in Cleveland and our students are currently building a community garden to grow vegetables and we recycle waste from school lunches to compost the garden...but this would be a great addition to what has been done so far to create an even more sustainable and eco-friendly addition to our community. The kids at your school did a tremendous job and should be very proud of their efforts! I will help spread the word so folks here can see how easy and fun it is to preserve our water supply!

I'll share your project with other high schools in our area and see what we can do to remedy the situation!
